Little Red Riding Hood lived in a wood with her mother.
Le petit chaperon rouge vivait dans la forêt avec sa maman.
One day Little Red Riding Hood went to see her granny.
Un jour le petit chaperon rouge alla voir sa grand-mère.
She had a nice cake in her basket.
Elle avait un beau gâteau dans son panier.
On her way, Little red riding hood met a wolf.
Sur son chemin, le petit chaperon rouge rencontra un loup.
"Hello", said the wolf.
"Bonjour", dit le loup.
"Where are you going ?"
"Où vas-tu ?"
"I'm going to see my grand-mother".
"Je vais voir ma grand-mère".
"She lives in a house behind those trees".
"Elle habite dans une maison derrière ces arbres".
The wolf ran to granny's house and ate granny up.
Le loup courut jusqu'à la maison de la grand-mère et il mangea la mamie.
He got into granny's bed.
Il se mit dans le lit de la grand-mère.
A little later Little Red Riding Hood reached the house.
Un peu plus tard le petit chaperon rouge arriva à la maison.
She looked at the wolf.
Elle regarda le loup.
Granny, what big eyes you have !
Grand-mère, comme tu as de grands yeux !
All the better to see you with ! said the wolf.
C'est pour mieux te voir ! dit le loup.
Granny, what big ears you have !
Grand-mère, comme tu as de grandes oreilles !
All the better to hear you with ! said the wolf.
C'est pour mieux t'entendre ! dit le loup.
Granny, what big nose you have !
Grand-mère, comme tu as un grand nez !
All the better to smell you with ! said the wolf.
C'est pour mieux te sentir ! dit le loup.
Granny, what big teeth you have !
Grand-mère, comme tu as de grandes dents !
All the better to eat you with ! Shouted the wolf.
C'est pour mieux te manger ! Hurla le loup.
A woodcutter was in the wood.
Un bûcheron était dans les bois.
He heard a loud scream, and ran to the house.
Il entendit un grand cri, et courut jusqu'à la maison.
The woodcutter hit the wolf over the head.
Le bûcheron frappa le loup sur la tête.
The wolf opened his mouth wide and shouted.
Le loup ouvrit grand la bouche et cria.
And granny jumped out.
Et la grand-mère bondit en-dehors.
The wolf ran away, and Little Red Riding Hood never saw the wolf again.
Le loup s'enfuit, et le petit chaperon rouge ne revit plus jamais le loup.
